Logging in - current students

Urgent update - ISD have now resolved the issue that was affecting staff and student single sign-on access to myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers on on Tuesday 10th September so, your ÂÒÂ×Ðã user ID / password should now work for logging in.ÌýIf you are still experiencing issues, please contact our team for support.

You will have access to myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers from the first day of your course at ÂÒÂ×Ðã as shown on your , (usually the first day of the autumn term), and will need to useÌýyour ÂÒÂ×Ðã 'single sign-on' Ìý(issued by ISD) to sign in to your personal myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers profile until your course / programme finishes.

While you are a current student at ÂÒÂ×Ðã, if your ÂÒÂ×Ðã user ID / password is working for other student platforms, (Moodle etc.), butÌýyou receive any type of error message when trying to log in to myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers as a student, pleaseÌýÌýfor support.

AfterÌýyour course has finished, your ÂÒÂ×Ðã single sign-on access to myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers through the 'Student sign in' button will stop working immediately,Ìý(and will display an error message if you try) but, you will still be able to sign in to myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers in a different way for up to three more yearsÌýas a recent graduateÌýas outlined below.

Logging in - recent ÂÒÂ×Ðã graduates

From the date that your course at ÂÒÂ×Ðã finishes, you will need to useÌýthe 'Alumni sign in' option to access your myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers profile and all ÂÒÂ×Ðã graduates will have continued access to careers support and your myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers account for up to threeÌýyearsÌýafter your course ends as detailed on our website.

When your old ÂÒÂ×Ðã user ID / password stops working via the student log in option highlightedÌýabove, you will be able to use any email address and a personal password, (not linked with your old ÂÒÂ×Ðã user ID), to continue logging in to myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers as and when needed.

To set up a new myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers password when signing in as a graduate for the first time, simply click the 'Alumni sign in' button and the and enterÌýthe email address which is currently linked to your myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers profile*.Ìý

“Important note: The default email that was set up with your myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers account when you were a student will have been your ÂÒÂ×Ðã email address but, specifically in the format of your 'email alias'*Ìýwhich was assigned to you by ISD when you joined ÂÒÂ×Ðã as detailed in their 'Connect to email' guidelines.

This isÌýusually in the format: name.surname.yy@ ucl.ac.uk (where 'yy' is the year you first joined ÂÒÂ×Ðã as a student)Ìýas opposed to the 'userid@ ucl.ac.uk' format ofÌýyour ÂÒÂ×Ðã email or your new ÂÒÂ×Ðã alumni 'email for life' address (²ú³Ü³Ù,Ìýall three of these address formats are linked with the same ÂÒÂ×Ðã email account and, you will still have access to emails sent to any of them as a graduate).

If entered correctly, you will immediately receive an automated email*Ìýwith a secure link set up a new password so that you can log straight in. Once logged in, if you would prefer to link your myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers account to a different email address for logging in and receiving emails, you can do this by Ìýand making that your default preference.

Alternatively, if you are having problems accessing your ÂÒÂ×Ðã emailÌýand can't use that to receive the password reset instructions following the instructions above, you can instead link any personal email address to your myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers account by completing thisÌý, (ensuring that you include your old Student Number, 'SN', or ÂÒÂ×Ðã user ID), so that our team can update your myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers account to link with this preferred email address and send the secure link for creatingÌýa new password there.

*Note: If you'd already chosen to use a non-ÂÒÂ×Ðã address as your default for receivingÌýmyÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers emails while you were a student, use that address instead for the alumni sign in / password reset.ÌýIf not and you do not receiveÌýa password reset email using the ÂÒÂ×Ðã email format / alias described above, (remembering to check junk / trash folders), do also try your using ÂÒÂ×Ðã address in the format, 'ucluserid@ucl.ac.uk' instead (in case you weren't assigned an email alias by ISD as a student).

Also note, if you are already receiving event or job alerts by email from myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers, those emails will highlight the exact format of email address you need to use to sign in to myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers as a graduate.

If you are still having problems signing in to your myÂÒÂ×ÐãCareers account though having finished your course,ÌýsimplyÌýcontact the ÂÒÂ×Ðã CareersÌýteamÌýfor support.Ìý
