DBS Document Checking Service

Please visit our in-person service to verify the documents for your Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) applications.

  1. Once you have submitted your DBS application online and have beenÌýcontacted by us and asked to apply for a DBS check via Atlantic Data, please visitÌýStudent Support and Wellbeing Services at Bloomsbury or MarshgateÌýat any time during the opening hoursÌýto get your ID documentsÌýchecked.ÌýYou can only do this once you have submitted your application online.
  2. PleaseÌýbring in the original copies of the documents you have selected in your application.ÌýPlease make sureÌýyou have all the correct documentation with you to complete the ID check when you come into the Student Support and Wellbeing Services.
  • Only original documents can be accepted; bank statements/bills that have been downloaded online will not be accepted.ÌýInstead these documents need to be obtained from, or posted to you by, the service provider and show a date within the specified time period, e.g., three months.
  • A bank statement which has been downloaded can be acceptedÌýif it has been validated by your bank with a wet stamp/signature
  • Important: TheÌýname and address on the documents you provide, need to match the details you submitted in your DBS application.

If you areÌýan international student and can generate a sharecode to prove your immigration status, you should selectÌýonline evidence of immigration statusÌýwhen choosing a document that proves your right to work and study.

Prior to submitting your information you will be asked to read and agree to a consent statement in line with the requirements of the DBS, the DBS Code of Practice and data protection legislation.

If you areÌýno longer able to provide the documents you have selected on your application, or if the dates on your documents become out of date (e.g., they are no longer within the specified three month time period), pleaseÌýLog an EnquiryÌýonÌýaskÂÒÂ×ÐãÌýand we can cancel your application and re-start the process.
