Confirmation of enrolment and award

Current and alumni students may obtain a statement of student status letter to confirm their ÂÒÂ×Ðã registration or a statement of award letter if awarded by ÂÒÂ×Ðã. These can be obtained free of charge.

Statement of Student Status

A standard statement of student status confirms your enrolment status, mode of attendance, programme of study, programme start date and programme end date. PleaseÌýensure that your home, contact and term-time address details are correct, as these are included in the statement. This letter can be used for many official purposes such as council tax exemption, opening a bank account and visa and funding applications.

If you are interrupting your studies, you are also able to obtain aÌýStatement of Student Status confirming your date of interruption.

Council tax exemption

If you are registered at ÂÒÂ×Ðã as a full-time student, you may be eligible to apply for council tax exemption. You can use a statement of student status to apply for council tax exemption.Ìý

Opening a bank account with a Bank letter

International students may require a statement of student status to openÌýa bank account in the UK. You must ensure that your home and term-time address details are correct on Portico prior to obtaining a statement of student status letter. For international students, your home address is the address in your home country. Your term-time address will be the UK address you live at whilst studying at ÂÒÂ×Ðã. Your home and term-time addresses will be included in the letter, so it is important that the addresses are correct.

This version of the statement of student status is addressed directlyÌýto the bank in which you want to open an account with. ThereforeÌýprior to requesting a letter, you should research different banks and make aÌýdecision as toÌýwhich bank you wish to sign up with. The Student Enquiries Centre cannot advise you which bank is most suitable for you.Ìý

Schengen Visa Letter (No Objection Letter)

The Student Enquiries Centre Team are able to produce Schengen Visa Letters for students who wish to travel within the Schengen Zone.

Students have access to download a Schengen Visa letter for tourism and a Field Trip directly fromÌýÌýif they are fully enrolled with fees being paidÌýand areÌýtravelling for a maximum of 14 days, before their expected date of course completion.

To request a Schengen Visa letter forÌýStudy LeaveÌý(Postgraduate Research students only)ÌýorÌýStudy Away from ÂÒÂ×ÐãÌýplease log intoÌýaskÂÒÂ×ÐãÌýand log an enquiry under the category 'Schengen Visa'. You will be asked to provide additional information about your planned travel as well as to confirm thatÌýyou have read and understood the FCDO guidance and knowingly take responsibility for any costs incurred due to changes in guidance. You will also be required to upload a confirmation of approval from your academic department.ÌýIf you would like to collect a physical copy from the Student Enquiries Centre, please specify this in the notes section of the enquiry.ÌýPlease allow 5 working days for your request to be processed.

Statement of Award

A statement of awardÌýis an official documentÌýcan be used as proof that your award was conferred by ÂÒÂ×Ðã.Ìý

A standard statement of awardÌýconfirms your enrolment status, mode of attendance, programme of study, programme start date andÌýprogramme end date, as well as theÌýqualification and award details. Your address details will not be included in the statement.

DOATAP - Hellenic National Academic Recognition Information Center (Hellenic NARIC)

A DOATAP statement of award is a version of the letter that confirms you carried out your studies as an internal student at ÂÒÂ×Ðã, London, UK, it is avaliable to alumni students who are applying to the Greek DOATAP authorities to have their award validated.ÌýDOATAPÌýisÌýresponsible for the recognition of university degreesÌýawarded by foreign Higher Education Institutions.Ìý

If you are required to submit a transcript as part of your application, this can be ordered via theÌýand sent directly to protocol_A@doatap.gr.

Academic Progression Evidence ('Highly likely to succeed' letter)

If you require academic progression evidenceÌýto state that you areÌý'highly likely to succeed', please speak to your academic departments. Please see the checklist if you need this for a Tier 4 visa application.

      If you are a current ÂÒÂ×Ðã student enrolled on a programme of study at ÂÒÂ×Ðã, please log in to to print out your statement of student status. If you completed your studies atÌýÂÒÂ×ÐãÌýin the last 2 years you should still have access to and can log in andÌýprint out your statement of award once your award has been conferred.Ìý

      You will not be able to print out your statement letter from Portico if you have not yet enrolled at ÂÒÂ×Ðã, have interrupted, have a debt on your record orÌýyou have completed your studies with us over two years ago.Ìý
