We have been saddened and disgusted to see the horrific attacks, Islamophobia, racism and disorder over the past week in the UK. ÌýÌý

This page includes information about security and safety on campus, what support is available for those affected and how to report incidents.

Supporting staff and students

The services we have are open to support all staff and students who may be affected, and we strongly urge you to reach out if you are in need and to help signpost to these widely across our university. We are reaching out through our Student Societies and staff networks to offer help to those who may be affected.

ÂÒÂ×Ðã staff and doctoral researchers can access confidential, 24/7 mental health support with our  Employee Assistance Programme: Staff Support Service.  If staff are experiencing difficulties impacting your ability to work, please speak to your line manager in the first instance. You can also contact an HR Business Partner for advice.

Additional support services are available for staff and students around Ìýfaith and belief at ÂÒÂ×ÐãÌý including quiet spaces for prayer and advice from our Chaplaincy team.

All students have access to ÂÒÂ×Ðã's  24/7 Student Support Line  for support with their mental health and wellbeing.

We know that a student affected may find it difficult to focus on their studies at this time. Anyone struggling with academic work should first talk to their tutor, who will be able to offer support and advice. Departments can also provide  Extenuating CircumstancesÌý o°ù ÌýAcademic Adjustments  to support any student who experiences sudden, unexpected difficulties that may affect their performance at assessment.

Security and safety on campus

We are committed to ensuring the continued security and safety of our campus and our community. We are not aware of anyÌýincidents in the vicinity over the past week but are remaining vigilant. As always, we have security on campus 24/7.

Our security colleagues can be contacted in an emergency by calling +44 (0)20 7679 2222 or ÂÒÂ×Ðã ext. 222 from any ÂÒÂ×Ðã phone, or by using theÌýSafeZone appÌý to contact the security switchboard. Reporting incidents of racism andÌýIslamophobia

We want to remind everyone that racism, Islamophobia, abuse, incitement or harassment will never be tolerated at ÂÒÂ×Ðã. If you have experienced any of these, we encourage you to use our  Ìý channels to ensure we can take any necessary action which may include signposting to our student and staff support services.

We will treat reports that we receive with the utmost seriousness. Report + Support is open to all members of our community, whether they are the victim of an instance of abuse, or witness to any incident, and it includes the option to report anonymously or on the record.
