Description

This module aims to develop general transferable writing skills as well as skills of writing in Russian. The content of the module has been developed using both process- and result-oriented approaches to the teaching of writing. The module sets out to help students to become independent and competent writers and give them the skills needed to produce coherent and cohesive written content in Russian. The three main elements of the module that will aid students in becoming competent and confident writers in Russian are:

  1. Writing, re-writing and editing essays
  1. Peer-reviewing and reflecting
  1. Writing for an audience via use of writer’s blogs

The module is designed to expand the strict essay-writing skills learned by students in other modules into different kinds of writing and different ways of working with texts.

The module is assessed using diverse methods of assessment and makes use of blogs and other software.
