ÂÒÂ×Ðã East London Scholarships

Fund your future with our ÂÒÂ×Ðã East London Scholarship. The scholarship works to support the ambitions of east Londoners by funding the fees and living costs of eligible Master's programmes at ÂÒÂ×Ðã.

Eligibility

  • be ordinarily resident in the UK or Ireland and eligible to pay Home fee rate AND,
  • have submitted a completeÌýadmission application (including submission of references) forÌýa full-time, part-time or modular/flexible Master's degree at ÂÒÂ×Ðã beginning in 2024/25Ìýfor one of the specified programmes –Ìýeligible programmes list.pdf, AND
  • have been a permanentÌýresident for the last five years (since 2019), or have completed GCSE or A-levels, in the following east London boroughs:
    • Hackney
    • Newham
    • Tower Hamlets
    • Waltham Forest

Value, benefits, and duration

  • There are 10 scholarshipsÌýavailable in 2024/25. For two of the awards, priority will be given toÌýeligible final year ÂÒÂ×Ðã undergraduates.

  • The value of the bursary is home tuition fees plus £15,700 maintenance (per year or pro rata for part-time and modular/flexible study modes).

  • Scholarship recipients are obliged to inform the ÂÒÂ×Ðã Student Funding Office immediately of any other funding they are awarded towards their ÂÒÂ×Ðã Master’s degree studies, before or subsequent to the ÂÒÂ×Ðã East London Scholarship beingÌýawarded.

Selection

The bursary is awarded on the basis of financial need and upon the recommendation of the Student Funding Office. ÂÒÂ×Ðã recognises the following as impactors of financial need: dependent children, disabilities, experience of care, receiving state benefits, forced migration (refugee, asylum seeker, those who have been granted a temporary form of leave as the result of an asylum or human rights application).

The deadline for applications to this scholarship will be at 5pm BST, Thursday 20 June 2024.


Results

Successful candidates for 2024/25Ìýwill be notified in late July to August 2024.
