A recent study conducted by ’s Institute of Cardiovascular Science was successful in predicting the patient’s chances of a heart attack or stroke. This was done by teaching AI to gauge the possibility of future adverse cardiovascular outcomes by analysing over a thousand patients’ heart images and cross-referencing with their health. This is now helping doctors in real time to identify who is at most risk.

Professor James Moon, from ’s Institute of Cardiovascular Science, said: “Artificial intelligence is moving out of the computer labs and into the real world of healthcare, carrying out some tasks better than doctors could do alone.
