We offer the UK's largest programme of undergraduate,Ìýmasters and doctoral degrees on the Americas. Our research was ranked 1st in Area Studies and Impact in the REF 2021.

The ÂÒÂ×Ðã Institute of the Americas was established in July 2012, as part of the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences. We are a leading multidisciplinary specialist institution for the study of Latin America, the United States, the Caribbean and Canada, and act as a focal point in the UK for students and researchers seeking to develop in-depth regional and continental knowledge of the Americas.

We offer the largest teaching portfolio on the Americas in the UK, specialising in social sciences and modern history. The Institute offersÌýsix taught postgraduate degrees, specialist supervision toÌýdoctoral level, and new undergraduate degree programmesÌýwhich includeÌýthe exciting opportunity to study abroad.Ìý

As a student at the ÂÒÂ×Ðã Institute of the Americas, you will be taught by world-leading scholars at the cutting edge of research in the humanities and social sciences. We provide and encourage comparative and interdisciplinary debate on the Americas that will enable you to gain a broad knowledge and understanding of the most recent scholarship on the region.
